The other day on the way home from school Zan complained that kids at school were teasing him because he has girlfriends. It is true, he has lots of friends who are girls. He enjoys playing with both boys and girls. We talked about how lucky he is to have so many friends, both boys AND girls. He considered this for a moment and then clearly decided to let the whole issue go by asking....
OK, can we walk past Kathereine's house?
A few days ago at dinner we were discussing the story that had been in the paper about George Washington's overdue library books. We hypothesized how many years overdue the books were and how much the fine might be. Zan listened to the conversation carefully, finally asking, "Is George Washington's mom dead?" After we confirmed that George's mother was dead, Zan nodded his head knowingly and said, "Well, that's why he didn't return his library books." Apparently moms are in charge of getting books back to the library on time.

LOL. That explains it! I need to start talking to the mothers of my attorneys at work :) Maybe I'll get half of my collection back.
