Our weekends seem to revolve around horses and hockey! This past weekend Zan had three games (two were away) and Zoe rode both Saturday and Sunday. Jesi, Dan, Bennett and Lucy came to see us at Zan's game in Maine on Sunday morning! It was great to see them, and fun for Zan to have family in the stands!
I didn't get any pictures of Zoe's eventful ride on Saturday. It was the first snowy ride of the season, and Kittery was out of sorts from the start. Once they got in the ring and began working, Kittery started kicking and bucking, which is not typical behavior for him. Zoe managed to stay on for a while, but he eventually threw her off, although she managed to land well. Sue asked Zoe and the other rider leave the ring, tied up Kittery's reins and free lunged him for ten minutes. He tore around the ring, kicking and turning. It was amazing, and nerve-racking, to witness his power and strength. Once he had settled down, Zoe got back on (gulp) and he was back to his usual self.

It was great to see you guys! Bennett pretended to play hockey for days afterwards by putting his feet on plastic plates and sliding around the kitchen - adorable! He always told us he was a "red guy" just like Zan. You might be seeing much more of us... Dan has been asked back to Exeter for a second round of interviews!
