Kimball Pond in the White Mountains
Our friend Jan has a beautiful home in the White Mountains that she lets us use every summer. It is right on Kimball Pond, with a beautiful view of the water and the mountains. The lake only has a few homes on it and power boats are prohibited...so peaceful.
Our mornings were lazy...spent playing games, reading and doing puzzles (there is no television, computer or cell phone service). Zan discovered Lincoln Logs for the first time. Mike did some fishing...no luck. Zoe and Zan LOVED swimming to the float and playing silly games on it - brought back lots of memories of the float on the Vineyard.
One day we had planned to hike around Mountain Pond, the largest undeveloped pond in the White Mountains, but shortly after we began walking, the trail became flooded. Mike had his gortex hiking boots on, so he went ahead a bit to investigate...beaver dam! We had to abort that plan and go to plan B - Black Cap Mountain.

On our way home we stopped at Sabbaday Falls for a quick hike and picnic on the river.
