Stone Zoo

Friday was a beautiful day and Zoe didn't have school so we went to the Stone Zoo with Ali.  The Stone Zoo is rather small and lacks the excitement of bigger zoos where you can see exotic animals like giraffes, elephants etc.  It also seemed a little neglected and not as clean as it could have been, but the two high points were the black bears and the jaguar cub.  The new black bear exhibit has an enormous glass panel for viewing the two black bear brothers.  They come right up to the glass as though they want to lick your hand or get a treat.  It was a little unnerving, but of course the kids loved it!  The bears are only 2 1/2 so they were pretty playful and amusing to watch.  The jaguar cub was adorable -  like a little kitty!  He was very focused on chewing a log to pieces.
