Remote Site on Umbagog Lake

Last week we spent three days on beautiful Umbagog Lake in Northern New Hampshire.  Our site was remote - meaning it is only accessible by boat.  For a fee, the park service delivered our gear, our two tandem kayaks and the four of us to site R7. Fortunately they also picked us up a few days later.
We loved our site - it was enormous - and complete with waterfront view, fire pit, picnic table, and the always important pit toilet!

Zoe and Zoe immediately went exploring.  They spent hours kayaking from our site - always in view and always with life jackets on.
 Foggy morning silly pose...
Both mornings started out VERY foggy, but cleared up by ten o'clock.

We explored the bottom third of the lake in kayaks, spotting herons, bald eagles and osprey, but no moose.

  Same view, minus the fog.

An after dinner swim.
