We spent last week at Umbagog Lake State Park at a remote campsite. Remote, in this case, meaning accessible by water(boat) only, pit toilet, no amenities, and no neighbors.
This is the view from "the rocks," which provide a spot to enjoy the view, swim, soak up the sun, or watch a storm come in.

We had several frogs, snakes, and chipmunks at our site. Every day we went for a long kayak, exploring different parts of the lower lake. We spotted eagles, osprey, loons (many adults and one chick), ducks, geese, fish, otters and evidence of beavers. One morning Mike and I watched a great blue heron hunt for breakfast from our picnic table.
