Bailey Island

We spent last weekend with Cheryl and Chris on Bailey Island at Sea Breeze (the cottage they have rented for three weeks).  It was rainy and overcast on Friday when we arrived, but after an hour the weather  turned sunny and beautiful for the remainder of our time there.  We spent the weekend relaxing, reading, playing in the water, enjoying the view, exploring the island and eating well (lobster rolls for dinner two nights in a row).
The rocks on the "beach" are very angular, not round.
Zan spent a lot of time exploring the shore at low tide, collecting rocks, shells, sea glass and other treasures.

" Kayak Wars"
Jim (neighbor) generously let the kids use his inflatable kayaks for the weekend.  They are difficult to maneuver, but indestructible and light weight.

 Breakfast at the Driftwood.
Posing on the trail to Giant's Stairs

 Trying for a family photo....

Ridiculously low lobster prices....

I love the new masthead photo, Pam! And the pic of Zoe hugging you... so sweet! A local friend of ours just had a baby named Zoe, and Bennett was so excited that ZOE was coming to our house... until he realized that it was a different Zoe =)
