Guest Post by Zoe: Last week my riding friends and our instructor went to a clinic at a big fancy riding barn. The lady who owns it is Sue's instructor, Martyna. We learned a lot about dressage and got to watch her ride. We even got to ride the horses! First we all got a lunge lesson, meaning she had a line attached to the horse, and she talked to us individually abut posture and balance. She said we would figure out our "problems". Then we rode by ourselves with her watching from a distance and telling us what to do. We got to do some really amazing things with the horses.

Fixing stirrups
My lunge lesson...no stirrups or reins!
She didn't let us post, we had to do a sitting trot...it was really bouncy! In high end dressage you don't post, so she wanted us to try it.
Martyna let us try Piaff, a dressage "move". The horses stay in one place and pick their feet up in this little dancing motion. It was as very weird feeling!
