Zoe and Zan's twelve year old cousin Nate spent the past week with us. We all enjoyed his visit and appreciated getting to know him in a way that is difficult at a typical family gathering. Nate has a positive attitude, a great sense of humor and is a "bit" competitive! We tried to show Nate a little bit of life in New Hampshire. We took in a Fisher Cat's baseball game, swam at the lake, went kayaking, swam at the local pool quite a few times (since it was 90 degrees or more most of the the week) and Nate rode a horse for the first time.
Zan loved having a boy in the house! They had a seemingly never ending nerf gun war and played games on their respective electronic devices.
The main reason for Nate's visit was to participate in Mike's band camp with Zoe, which culminated with the annual concert at the ice cream barn. Duncan, Margaret, Nick and Bella all came up for the show!

We found Nate's name carved into the dock where we always stop for a swim.

Nate and Kittery trotting. I love the expression on his face!
