The last few days have been rough on Zan. He is normally easy going and pretty nonviolent, but knowing that preschool was starting soon took its toll on him...he had a few meltdowns and two hitting incidents. This morning was long (he is in the afternoon session) and full of repeated announcements such as: "Mommy, I've decided that I want to stay home with you instead." However, much to my surprise, after lunch he put his favorite bears in his back pack (just in case), walked to school without any fussing, and said goodbye without a backward glance! Whew! Sometimes the anticipation is the hardest part.

this post brought back so many memories for me (i almost cried!). i had the same emotions prior to and on the first day of preschool. i remember that day so well...
despite his hesitation, zan looks super prepared in the picture. cool post!
and to add to your awesome post of my soon (in three years) to be part of this mommy experience:
sitting in sora's house and zan came by to drop off bbq forks or something, and she asked about his day and all i heard was him happily screeching as he clearly was skipping down the stairs back to your house 'FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL..." as if he was also saying "YIPPEEEEEE!" so it sounds like a success story all around. (and anticipation is typically the worst, the real deal typically is awesome)
